Mix the Jell-O pudding mix with the milk in a large bowl. Press cling wrap to the top of the pudding and refrigerate for 1 hour.

After the pudding has chilled, mix in the entire container of the cool whip and combine well.

Assemble in a trifle bowl, starting with ⅓ of the pudding on the bottom. Next layer ⅓ of the vanilla wafers to cover the surface, followed by ⅓ of the sliced banana. Repeat with the last two layers, ending with the wafers and banana slices for the top layer. You can also crush the wafers on top to decorate.

For individual servings, you can also assemble mini puddings in mason jars.

Let chill for at least 2 hours before serving.
